got a 96 t/a and previous owner said it was having some prblems with the egr but he also told me all of it was deleted out...anyways the car was running fine then just quit....you go to crank it and it does nothing but trys to turn over..NO FIRE....if you gas it it will halfway run, smoking like hell, choppy then bogg itself down..if you try to ease out of the clutch it will bogg down...any ideas..i need to get this thing off the side of the road!!!

ok a little update...car still running like ****...i unplugged the maf with the car running and it cleared up and seems to be running fine with the occasional pop, i guess where the maf is unplugged...thing is i tried another maf from another one of my cars and it starts acting retarded again and running rough...any suggestions???

 

Is it smoking? Blue or Black? I assume that you realized when you bought it that since it is quite modified that it wasn't exactly babied.

 

ok i think your reading wrong...the car in my sig is not the one im talking about...the one im talking about is a small bolt on 96 t/a...not my camaros

 

When I first bought my Camaro, it would do stupid aggravating **** like that because of the previous owner's neglect and abuse of the car.

The solution was to build a 396 for it.

Seriously, though, if there's no fire, then you need to check other things.

Is the car getting fuel? Check presssure at the schrader valve.
Is the car getting spark? Unplug a plug wire and see if it archs.

It could be 100 different things: Coil, ignition module, vaccuum leak, optispark, fuel pump, relay, etc, etc, etc. If you get fed up, scan the car and see what trouble codes are popping up.
