Problems w/ Pacesetter LT and EGR
Problems w/ Pacesetter LT and EGR
Hey everyone, I am almost done with my Pacesetter LT install but I am held up on the EGR fitting. I cannot seem to get it to clear the trans. dipstick. Is there anything I am doing majorly wrong or something I am missing. Any help would be appreciated, I just want to get these things done and over with.
Re: Problems w/ Pacesetter LT and EGR
Yeah i had the same damnthing. If i had knowin that before put the headers on the car i wouldhave bent the egr fitting and tryed not to break it.I was going to pull the tranny hook the egr up and bend it a lilwhen i put the tranny back in.
Re: Problems w/ Pacesetter LT and EGR
Dont bother pulling out the tranny dipstick, it is more trouble then it is worth. Here is what I just did today to solve the problem, I took the header off, my dad came over, heated up the pipe and bent the EGR tube out of towards the firewall by about a 1/4 inch. It cleared perfectly and it bolted up to the EGR hose with some effort. Unfortunately, by taking the header off, I trashed the gasket so I have to wait two days for a new one to complete everything. In the meantime, I will take off the old Edelbrock catback and install my new Magnaflow. Also, if you are going to bend the pipe, we heated up the EGR fitting for about five minutes with a propane torch, stuck a long screwdriver in it and bent it that ways. Also, the heat didn't affect the ceramic coating at all. Hope this helps anyone else with this similar problem.
