Question Problems with Trick Flow Elbow w/ SLP CAI

Has anyone else had any problems with the fitment of the Trick Flow Elbow with the SLP CAI? When I tried to install my elbow, it appears that it is approximately 1/4" too long on the MAF side of the elbow. I was thinking about just trimming the excess off the elbow, but there is a small ridge running around the end of the elbow that would get cut off. I am assuming that if I tighten the clamp adequately that the missing ridge would not be a problem. Any thoughts on the matter?

Cool There is definately fitment issues for Trick Flow Elbow w/ SLP CAI

I remember reading a while ago about how some had to trim the SLP tube or the TF unit for proper fit.

I remember that it didn't fit with an SLP CAI I had but was fine with an AS&M CAI I had so i sold the SLP.

Do a search and see if you can find the posts I'm referring to. Over a year ago should be the ones I'm talking about.

I have the Trick Flow elbow w/ the F-1 (same as SLP) CAI and it fit w/o trimmimg anything but was very tight. It is a real chinese puzzle to install and I suspect I do it different every time.

It's a kit and I just replace the oem cover when I have to replace the alternator. I will have to look the vendor up when I get home (saved in my Favorites!).
Thanks!

You thread stealers! (LOL)

I just cut about 3/8" off the MAF end of the Trick Flow Elbow. Hopefully it works alright since I won't be returning it now!

Good luck with the alternator covers boys....By the way they have them at Summit Racing for $59.95....
