Problems interchanging Engine wiring harnesses

I have a 94 camaro W/O traction control... My harness was severely damaged and I bought a 95 one on ebay...

It looks like this harness came from a traction control car, since it has 2 connectors from the engine harness to the front lights harness where it connects to the abs...

I first had a problem that in the black connector that connects the engine harness to the internal harness (C210 connector) the Oragne wire that fed power to the PCM from the fuse 10 was not there... I had to make a jump from there to the orange cable on one of the connectors of the PCM...

My problem: I am not getting serial data from the PCM... The tan wire on connector C220 is there on both sides, i get a check engine light, but if I jump A and B on the ALDL connector i dont get the check engine light with code 12 to start...

HAs anyone done this? or whats my problem..

Thanks

I didn't think you could jump the wires in 94-up car to get flashing codes? Have you tried a scan tool? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Right. You cannot flash codes on the LT1 fbody past 1993. You need a scan tool.

Well... neither scanmaster nor OTC nor datamaster neither will tunercat connect to the vehicle...

I found what the problem was and the jump I need to make..

And I think you can flash the codes since the fans will turn on and that means diagnostic mode...

I will make the jump I need and then check if the a-b jump works.

You cannot flash the codes. The fans come on during "field service enable mode" when you jump the connectors. Trust me, you will never get any codes.

Either way... if it works or not I need to fix my serial data connection from the PCM!
