problems getting car to start
When I go to start the car the starter solenoid clicks and the gear extends to the flywheel but, that is all that happens. I don't know if it is the battery because I have a red top Optima battery in there. I had it load tested and it came back fine. I also pulled the starter to check it and when I jumped it the gear extends and spins, so the starter works fine.
Here is what I have tried so far;
When the key is in the start position I watch my volt gauge in the car drop from about 12 volts to about 8 volts. I also got under the car and checked the power to the starter when someone else turns the key and the voltage is 8 volts at the starter. At the battery I get a reading of 13 volts. So somewhere in between I am losing power. I checked the continuity of the negative cables because they looked a little corroded yet, there flow reading is 1. If anyone has any ideas of what this can be PLEASE help? Thanks in advance.

I'd try a new starter. At least take the old one in and have it checked. Those red tops should be warranteed for awhile.
Even though you say its "good" the system, as far as I know, is just composed of a battery and the starter and solenoid.
If the starter engages but doesn't turn the engine, perhaps there just isn't enough power. Heck, I don't know, but I'd sure go the starter route to begin with. JMHO
