Problems after Header install, Need Help!!!

Just installed Pacesetter longtubes with Off road Y-Pipe and cat removed. Tuned by madZ28. The car idles fine and revs fine in nuetral. When in gear if I try to give it gas it damn near dies, falling on its face, bucking and sputtering. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Problems after Header install, Need Help!!!

this is what i have gathered from everyone else on the board in the last few weks cuz i have been having the same problems.
burnt plug wires.. when it is dark out see if u see any arcing, looks like blue flash
crossed wires..i.e. #7 n #8 backwards
blown head gasket, u will hear ticking depending on where it is at, and if it is real bad, u can put u hand near it and feel the air hitting ur hand.
go look for the blue and arc and ticking in a dark area and post what u find!

Forgot to mention, the SES light is on which leads me to believe it is O2. Dunno, cuzI spliced into the o2s instead of getting extensions.

Re: Problems after Header install, Need Help!!!

hey man i had to do the same thing with splicing the o2's becuz the *******s sent me the wrong extensions. so at first i was hoping that was the problem, but when i got the new ones , there was only a slight change. but didnt fix the problem. go out right now and look to see if u see it arcing! i am almost sure u have a burnt wire.
does it happen when the motor gets up to operating temp, or does it start as soon as u start the car up?

Re: Problems after Header install, Need Help!!!

Nope, no arcing. I can pretty much narow it down to eaither a crossed wire, or O2. Here is a question for ya. The rear two sensors are disabled via madz28. Now, one of the o2s(passenger side) hooked into the collector is the square plug-in. The drivers side is the flat plug in. Do I have the wrong one on the passenger side? How do I check if my O2s are getting a signal at all? The only reason I ask is, before the install I had an SES light that pulled up o2 codes, however the car ran great. When I put in these I used my two best ones. Maybe this helps.

So I put in the o2s how they are supposed to be, duh! Two flat ones hooked up and the other two dissabled. It runs better, but not perfect. Any other ideas or things I could check?
Thanks for the input.

Just a quick question. Did your pacesetters have a coating on them? during the frist 500mi or so, that coating can burn off and coat your o2s. If that is the case, your o2s are crap now. Always use old o2s when installing coated headers.

Re: Problems after Header install, Need Help!!!

id bet whatevers in my wallet its ur rear o2's-

seems whenever u install coated headers withing a few weeks they crap out- car runs like crap - constant missing- idle funny - i thought i had blown my engine, ran a scan and was getting multiple cylinder misfires and bad o2 sensors readings along with too lean-

changed the o2 and she ran perfect

i would def.. look at the 02's.. if not change them.. at least take a look on the laptop see whether they're slow or if they're active.. as in up and down constantly.. Cheap insurance.. !
