problems after bbk throttle body install !
Re: problems after bbk throttle body install !
I had the BBK 52mm throttle body on my 93 T/A and it was one of the first ones out, it had all sorts of linkage problems, and with a 700R4 that can be disastrous. This is a list of the problems I had.
Had to grind off the linkage and turn slightly and reweld.
Had to redrill the holes that you boltdown the TPS with, I couldnt elongate the holes enough to get it to idle correctly.
Sticking throttle, found where a little ressitance with the blades internally was, polished area and fixed.
I notified BBK of all the problems, they offered me another one, but since I had this one sorted out I declined. They said they would incorporate this all in their new ones. (this was 1995).
A good freind of mine recently bought a 58mm BBK and all the stuff I just mentioned was rectified on his.
