problems 450~ miles after cam install...
Just today was the first time I have had this much of a problem. Today after is started it up it did the usual cold startup jerkyness after the cam install, and then I got a blinking SES light that stayed on. I didnt think much of it, and when I tried to get back in the car and start it it wont start now? I did notice that when I parked it the idle was low and the oil pressure seemed low too? could this be caused by a torn connector wire to the alternator? it was sitting on the fan of the alternator a week or so ago, and i pulled it off, thought everything was ok. I have however had the surges at startup when the motor is cold, but it goes away when the motor gets warmer.
Any advice is helpful, please help!
thanks

would a burnt spark plug wire cause the car to idle at 500-1500 bouncing around? this has almost stumped me... why would oil pressure be low? low rpms? it idles very rough and doesnt sound like it even wants to idle....
any help plz
any help plz
Now, when I start it it puts super slow, you can hear each cylinder fire, and it is at 500 rpms... wtf is going on? it idles at 500 rpm, oil pressure is back up at least now to stock levels, I just reset the PCM and it is on stock programing. No SES light came back on, but the car was only on for like 10 seconds tops.
thanks

i would have the computer tuned for that cam if i were you,if that doesnt help,at least your computer would be tuned for the cam and it wouldnt be a waste of money.i dont know what to say about the low oil pressure but how high is it when you're driving around.People always make a huge deal about low pressure at idle, but really, a SBC only NEEDS about 4psi at idle.I think the rule of thumb is AT LEAST 4 psi/1000rpm.
