Problem Codes 100 and 103

I just got my car scanned today because I've had a SES light on for a little bit. These are the trouble codes I got. I know they evolve the Mass Air Sensor, but exactly do they mean? And what needs to be done to fix the problem. Thanks a lot.
The codes were 100 and 103.

P0100 Mass Air Flow (MAF) insufficient signal activity

P0103 Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor circuit high frequency

Sounds like your MAF is sick or maybe has lost power. For starters, check for 12v on the pink wire with the key ON. You have probably been running in speed density mode since the MAF may not be operating.

Could the problem with my MAF be the cause of my cold starting problems? When the car has been sitting for about 2-3 or more hours it will start, but quit after a second of running. Then I'll try to start it again and it runs fine. I'll check the voltage and see what I get. Thanks for your help.

Alright, I did a voltage check. I got 12V from the pink wire when the key was in the ON position. So, does that mean my MAF is toast? What would be a good replacement? I saw a ZO6 one at LS1speed for a fair price. Would that be overkill for my pretty much stock car? Thanks again.
