Comp R's will work just fine with your setup. They're a direct swap for the stockers.

The Comp R listers are the ones that are supposed to act like a solid roller above 2500RPMs or something, right? I was wondering how good that setup would be compared to going to full solid roller? Any comments?

well, whatdya think? picked up the comp r lifters used with 1000 miles and a tci convertor 2800 stall for 350-was it a decent deal?? (that convertor in my car currently was advertised at 2600 but wont stall anywhere near it)
how is it that these lifters take on the characteristics of a solid lifter at higher rpm though??? havent heard that.

I thought it was these lifters that I heard do this, but I may be wrong. I don't know the techcical aspect of their function either.

They pump up by 1800 rpms. If my thinkings right, they basically fill with oil (pump up) and thus take on the characteristics of a solid roller.

That sounds right. So you get the efficiency of a solid, without having to adjut them. Does anyone know how well they accomplish this in comparison to a solid?

um.. they will give you none of the benifits of a solid roller. the big thing about comp Rs is they can handle a lot more spring pressure, and thus more agressive hydralic cams.

Doh! At least now I know so that I won't bother getting these in the future. Living in Cali would prevent me from running a cam aggressive enough to take advantage of these (I think) with the smog *****. What's everyones opinions on these?

Pumping up with oil...isn't that how ALL hydro lifters work?

Also, last I knew, combinationmotorsports had these Comp R's on sale for $199, not sure if it's still going on. I was trying to find them in Summit but don't know which are the R's. Anyone have a part # ?

875-16 is the part number for them, they're called Pro-Magnum HR lifters.

They're just a hydraulic lifter from what I've seen... nothing that's going to make a difference 99% of the time for people. Of course they dont hurt..

Cool thanks for the PN, I'll check them out! I need new lifters anyways. I took out a couple lifters (flat spots on the rollers) and a couple cam lobes when I spun a rod bearing.
