Pro 5.0 prob
Pro 5.0 prob
Had my 5.0 for awhile and this has always seemed to happen.
When doing the 2nd to 3rd shift, it acts like i hit the divider between 1st and 3rd, and i have to push it further over to the right to get it to slide into 3rd.
This usually happens when im trying to race someone, or running it thru the gears quickly.
Would this have anything to do with my bad tranny mount? It never seemed to happen with the stock shifter (tho i did ram it back into 1st several times)
any suggestions?
thanks!

I have that problem with my stock shifter... but Ive always assumed it was the "stock" part of the shifter that was the problem... am I wrong? Im saving up for a pro 5.0 at the moment (im broke and in hs with a weak budget

Its the tranny your hitting the gates. I've had my damn tranny rebuilt twice because of it
Still does it especially downshifting into third.
It happened with the WS6 hurst shifter, Stock shifter, and the Pro 5.0 so I'm pretty sure its the tranny. It is catching on a little lip The tranny guy showed me it when it was apart. Funny thing is this is the 4th T56 I've owned and only this one has the problem.
Sorry for the Bad news

edit: what exactly is the gates???
Well I don't know if it is actually the gates it is hitting. Gates are the path the tranny goes into gear (tranny guys feel free to correct me)
There is this hook looking pieces that the shift levers forks whatever slid against and it is catching on it. Probably not technically right but gives you the idea of it.
I AM not a tranny expert but it is a pretty common problem often called the "mystery gear" Supposively they filed the corner off a bit to smooth it out but my tranny does the same thing
