Preload on Comp High energy lifters and CC306??

I have a horrible clacking sound coming from my engine.. i have tracked it down to the valve train (and no one try to say its anythign else).. The preload for these lifters is recommended 1/2 turn on the rocker arm.. It seems that i have a slight ticking noise and split blms... The Lterm driver side on datamaster seems to be constantly running lean and the injector pulse is always a tad higher.. Funny how the ticking and lean condition are on the same side.. Ok now the fun part.. I have adjusted these numerous times but to the same preload of 3/4 turn, aparently that didnt work.. so how much preload do you all recommend? 1/2 or what? Im currently adjusting them now so some speedy advice would be appreciated.. Shoebox? you around? Altjar?
