Precision 3.73 gears for a 2 series carrier, good gears?
I bought a set of 3.73 gears for a 2 series carrier. Are they good quality gears? I haven't got around to having them installed yet. I have 2.73's and want the extra SOTP kick. What is the top speed that can be ran consistantly with the 3.73 gears without doing damage? I like to run at around 120 to 130 mph. It is fairly important because I will be running in the upcoming Gumball 3000 and need some top speed as well as off the line grunt. Thanks!!

THANKS!!!
That's awesome!! Thanks. Is it safe to run our cars consistantly in the 4500 to 5000 RPM range? If I have 3.73 gears at 4500 RPM I'd be running at 132 mph. At 5000 RPM I'd be running at 146 mph. Will the engine handle that?
On the other hand maybe it is safer to stay with the 2.73's and just throw in a 2800-3000 stall converter for off the line power. Anyone wanna buy a nice set of Precision 3.73 gears for a 2 series carrier??

Honestly, I have no idea. I just decided to throw the wires on because I've always loved em. Same with the fender trim. Some people like it, most don't.
