Power Window Motor Questions?

My passenger side window moves slow up and down.I figure that it's going bad. so i'm going to replace both of them at the same time.My questions are....
(1) Where else besides Autozone(45.00/piece) can i get them?
(2) Will they be faster than the factory motors?
(3) Any info on how to change them? Previous install websites, etc. Thanks

Try cleaning inside the door panel and motor before you spend money just .02

I am pretty sure it's the motor. I can raise the window so far, then it will stop.Wait a second and it will go up a little further. The drivers side is just plain slow.

Yup, thats the motor. I also got the lifetiem warrenty rebuilt for my drivers side. My passenger side is MUCH slower now. I've had the rebuilt for a year and it hasn't slowed down yet. Swapping it a second time with the lifetime warrenty will be real easy once you have the holes drilled. Much cheaper option than a new gm one.

I just had deja vu when i saw shoeboxes link because i just posted this one in another thread. there is probably a linke to that site from the one shoebox posted since it's the same guy. That has more to do with alignment which you'll also want to get right.

yup, that's your window motor overheating when it stops then cooling off and going up the rest of the way. mine started out like that and it got to the point where it took 20 minutes of stop and go to get the window up. the ones at autozone are the best deal, and they come with a life time warranty. shoebox's guide is the best and saved me alot of trouble. it seems faster than the factory motor.....

Follow Shoeboxes link above, made changing the motor out a snap. It took me longer to get the door panel off than it actually took to R & R the motor.

Easy fix, and thanks Shoebox, a lot!

Thanks for the info guys. I appreciate it. I went and got one of the motors at Autozone. They will get the other tomorrow.

Yeah, that is my site. My original site seems to have bit the dust.
