Powdercoating Vs. Ceramic on Headers

What is the difference? Is powdercoating a good alternative? What are the pros and cons? Thanks.

I believe powder coating is just what you use on things that need something more durable than paint. Ceramic is used as a heat barrier, things like headers and such.

I've never heard of power coating headders. I have seen just crappy black paint, that will eventually bake off. If you can afford it, get the ceramic coating, it will keep engine temps down and prolong the life of your headders.

The guy that does the powdercoating, says that he uses a 1600* temp triple powdercoating and will keep the temp. of the headers down and under the hood temp. down as well. He said not only will it control temperature, it will keep the headers from coroding. What do ya'll think. It is $100 to get them powdercoated aluminum. Good or no good?

Sounds kind of strange, but what the hell. Does he do the inside of the headers as well? If not, it's a waste of $100.

That's what I thought stunk. He said that he could powdercoat inside, however, he couldnt get into the bends in the pipes So, you think it's a waste then???

Honestly, I know this sounds like it may be a good deal.. nice and cheap, but I'd pass and wait till it can be done right.
