Possible Reasons for studdering

Okay, my 93' LT1 is mostly all stock and have the lovely 2.73's in the rear. I tend to have a slight studder between 1k-2k RPMs while accelerating semi-hard - very hard. It doesnt happen every single time, but usually i will feel it slightly, or feel it to the point where it seems like the car actually goes dead for a split second. But like i said, it doesnt always do this. I have taken care of the car very well and have done a recent tune up with plugs, wires and a few other things as well hoping to cure this problem. The only thing I have yet to do is the air filter. That very well may be the problem, but im just curious as to what anyone else's opinions of what my problem may be. Dirty fuel injectors? Is my timing off? Any help would be awesome....

Clean out your IAC and swap in a new coil.

It's probably not your air filter unless its collapsed, even then it would be a problem happening at higher rpm than 1-2k rpm. Running a good fuel injector cleaner wouldn't hurt either, I would recommend BG 44k as best, it costs $20 but it rocks. I know advance auto parts and napa carries is but I'm not sure about anywhere else.

Also are you throwing any codes? Mine has recently been doing something similiar, and is throwing a intermittent code 32 (egr system). You might want to check that system out here . Hope this helps

yea im throwing a code...service engine light comes on, only on occasion when i at 70 MPH or so for a constant time...im thinking that is dealing with the EGR as well...Damn...maybe we have the same issue. Lets figure this BS out.

yeah my link to shoebox's site above really explains things well. I'm just about to clean out my egr with carb cleaner and make sure that there's nothing blocking the egr hole in the intake (just waiting for the engine to cool down). Most likely if you pull off the egr you will have to replace the gasget, but most auto parts stores should carry it in stock for about a dollar.

you can have your code read for free if it ever happens again at any autozone or advance auto parts store. The ses light has to be on though.

The IAC is under the TB.

Unbolt it and clean it out with carb cleaner.
