Hi

have had to add coolant about once a month (1 Quart). No apparent external leakage. 2 places i have taken it to had said possible head gaskets leaking. Is this normal for this mileage? I bought the car with 67K 4 years ago and have not run it hard. Oil changes every 3 K. Could an intake manifold leak also cause this? How can u tell? (engine does run rough on start up, esp when cold, then cleans up, but plugs wires are original.) No evidence of oil dilution or steam from exhaust

Most likely a head gasket, thats what mine was doing and then, it just went all the way and was blowing out steam out the exhaust. You should definately get it fixed so you dont get stranded somewhere. Have you done a compression test? Mine went at 120,XXX miles.

engine has never overheated; only ran slightly hot when coolant was low. w pump replaced 3 years ago. coolant changed then.
