Possible 396 build

Alright, I am beginning my long stint of research for my up and coming project. I would like to build a 396 LT1. What exactly goes into this process. I can buy the bottom end in a complete kit. What needs to be done to the block? Is it a .30 over or a .60 over? What kind of heads are recommended. Will the heads I have now hold the 396, or will I need to go bigger (2.00/1.56 with CC986 springs)? Any info, websites, or tech help you guys could lend would make this research all that much easier.

Thanks,
BIZ

a 396 is .030 over with a 3.875 I would get on the phone with Lloyd Elliot.
