Angry possessed headlight question

This is for my '97 Trans Am Convertible:

Okay...I'm having a problem with my flip-up headlights/lights in general and wondered if anyone has any suggestions?

First, this happened a year ago but fixed itself within 2 days. I took the car on a road trip to SC, and about 3 hours into the trip is started doing this (same as the year before when I took a road trip with the car...although it wasn't until the trip home that time). The headlights flip up/turn themselves on along with the foglamps and dash. My lights are in the 'off' position. This time after about 2 days the fog lights and dash are no longer lit but the headlights are still flipping up/turning on when I start the car. They turn off/flip down when I shut the car off.

Even when I pull the headlight motor fuses the lights themselves still turn on when they are in the down position.
I have never had any problems with grinding/noises/etc....like I said it happened a year ago and then again on long road trips (and it was dry out...no rain or anything that could have gotten water in anything).

Any suggestions? It really doesn't seem like the motors, almost more of an electrical/relay issue but I don't have a clue as to what/where to look! BTW, this happened the first time before I had an alarm installed so I don't think it's related to the alarm system.

Help!! Thanks!

I would think that all the lights and the motors have in common is the headlight switch

Yeah, I figured it is something with the wiring to/from/etc with the switch...but I don't have any wiring diagrams or know where to start looking...anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Make sure all your lights are working(side markers, turns, parking) That could be causing the problem.

I'm not an expert with the Firebird headlamp doors, since I have a Camaro. Maybe our moderator, Brent, could help more.

If all wiring is good and connections tight and clean, my first suspect would be the headlight door module. I can get you a wiring diagram from a 1996 manual. I think it should be the same on the 1997.
