POS SPEC's!!!!!!
Okay.....darnit!!! finished putting my tranny back together! After my Z plate broke in half....
!!!
rebuilding the tranny was fun! and would had only cost me 40bucks at most...if I had a garage and didn't have to pay a shop 75bucks every 2 days to store my car
So now that the tranny is back in what was the problem...
Well I had a hard time going into reverse...problem was the connector pin broke a connector...so the R.Solinoid isn't getting power....still sh*tty...off to radio shack I go.
next issue....the SPEC fantasticly great Clutch CLUTCH!!!!
Damn pedal is still soft....and this time to accomodate that still soft feeling...my CLutch pedal shakes...
Pointed it down to these items...
A. Clutch fork
B. T/O Bearing
C. Pressure Plate
D. SPEC
E. All of the Above....
Answer = E!
Can't believe this GREAT! piece of junk clutch could cause all these problems WTF! 470 bucks for this GREAT! crap... I'll be contacting SPEC to see if I can give them back this junk and get a Stage 3...even though the 2 never worked really...I still see flaws in it's design.
SPEC=BEST clutches ever....
THank you spec for helping me break my tranny and selling me this junk! I loved every moment of it!
My AUtozone clutch lasted longer than the 500miles this clutch did! But I enjoyed Pullying my tranny again and spending money I ever so needed. Thanks guys!
I salute you! Your Clutches are awsome!

As with any product, someone always has a bad experience. My spec 4 works perfect and have never had any problem. 6,500rpm clutch dumps at the track and still going.
LOL's
What is it with this site...how come when ever someone says a product is good everyone bashes it....

...just wondering how great is SPEC's customer service when you have a problem with thier product?
I only get through them through Thunder Racing....
BTW if anyone was wondering about SPEC's billet flywheels that are supposed to be 3-4lbs lighter than stock....it's a myth....it's actually heavier...mainly do to it's bulk...it has allot more mass than the stock flywheel for some reason... ANother 239 wasted....I swear I could of had my AFR's and 1.6's long ago!

The springs that they use in their clutches are tiny which is why they are prone to breaking even under daily driving conditions. I never raced my Spec stage 3 clutch (new design) and went through 2 in 10 months, with the first one destroying my tranny in the process. Did a little research on their clutches and found out some interesting info from a local clutch shop/builder. First of all, the springs are the same ones used in their 4-cyl clutches, just look at their springs compared to stock or any other aftermarket clutch. They are half the coil diameter, spring diameter and length as the stock ones. The clutch builder I talked to even compared a Spec Stage 3 4-cyl Toyota clutch to the Stage 3 LT1, the whole center section was the same part, only the actual disk and pads were larger on the LT1. Their parts are made in China and why do you think they only carry a 4 month warranty? I called Spec again after blowing the 2nd clutch out and having tranny rebuilt, new poly mounts, Pro 5.0 all installed when the 2nd one went in, their response was this. It has to be something wrong with your mounts, input shaft, or transmission, because it cant be our clutch. Once I informed them that EVERYTHING had been replaced, they said, well something is wrong, our clutches just dont blow out like that, and refused to refund me any of the cost of the 2nd clutch back if returned, but they said they would pro-rate one if I bought another. The only Spec I would ever get is a Stage 4 if I really needed it simply because it is unsprung, or their C4 disks, as all their C4 disks, Stage 2 and above are unsprung. Their springs are worthless. That is all.
