Im trying to work out a deal for a ported lt1 intake but i wanted to know if i need any other parts besides the stock parts i already have to make this work? Is there a guide or a walk through on how to change the intake? Is it a hard job?

Easy job....make sure you will buy good ported intake. The runners should be ported but not polished so the Air/Fuel Mixture will be mixed easier. Make sure that intake have gasket matched runners...
The whole job is pretty easy. You will need basic tools and one special tool to remove fuel lines (but of course if your new intake will have the same fuel rails as the old one you can just unbolt it with the injectors from the old intake so you don’t have to use fuel line removal tool). You will need 2 intake gaskets and RTV silicone so seal front and back of your intake. Make sure that your new posted intake runners will be matched to intake gaskets.
The important thing is to make sure that no garbage will get into the engine. This is the easiest way to f$uck up your bearings (if anything mix with the oil it can damage your bearings).
The whole job should take less than 4 hours...

I disagree, they should be as smooth as possible. The fuel is not injected until it is basically in the head already, so there is not fuel/air atomization in the intake itself.

Also, is this on a modified engine, with modified heads? If not save your money bud.

 

I like to buy my parts over time so that it doesnt feel so bad So im trying to buy the intake now and im working on the hot cam kit. Maybe......just maybe like around aug/sept im gonna get ported heads.
