Ported Stock Heads with LE2 Cam

i was wondering if you guys think Porting and Polishing my heads would run good with an LE2 cam with all the supporting mods of course. how much would it cost to get them ported say like at a local machine shop? i like the LE2 heads but if it's cheaper to port and polish the heads and would work about the same with the cam i would go that route. my car is a 94Z A4. i plan on DD the car with some track times as well. thanx in advance.

Whatever you do don't skimp on the heads...Although I don't use LE stuff I'd think it best to have Lloyd do the heads since the cam will be matched to it...There's also E.B. Porting, Ai, etc...If you have a good history with your local machine shop and they are familiar with what the LT1 head likes, etc then go for it, just make sure they know what they are doing...

chances are you'd make the most power by having them ported by lloyd as well (food for thought)

Can't go wrong with a proven kit - there are tons of people on this board and others running all stages of Lloyd combos that are posting some impressive numbers, enough to make me consider doing the same on my '95 in the LE3 variant. Start with what you're looking to get performance-wise out of your car, and ultimately what you are wanting to achieve. Remember also you do lose a little reliability (or a lot) the wilder the combo you decide to go with. Do searches on here - his combos are pretty affordable, IMO.
