ported LT1 heads ( 53cc????)
Re: ported LT1 heads ( 53cc????)
Your combustion chamber will affect what your compression ratio is. What is your plans for the engine? And what is your resoning for wanting to know this info? Are these heads on the car or are you getting ready to put them on?
Re: ported LT1 heads ( 53cc????)
I got a really good deal on these ported and polished heads so to answer the question, they are not on my car yet, I am debating weather I should install these but I am affraid I wont see the HP gains Im expecting. Just dont want to waste the labor you know, but I might throw them on anyways just to see what they do for me, machine shop said they are identical to eldebrocks ported and polished LT1 heads?
Re: ported LT1 heads ( 53cc????)
I learned the hard way, I will never buy another set of heads without #s.
53cc sounds to me like they were shaved 0.010 and the chambers were not touched. At best they could have a valve job and be gasket matched. If they are off the car make whoever you are getting them from flow test them. Should'nt be more than $50, offer to pay half if the numbers come back good or something.
I bought a set of iron heads that the motor had been making 415 NA. Only thing changed on them was the valvesprings. (At least he gave me my money back)
