ported heads with stock cam
Yeah, I had ported stock heads with bigger valves (flowed 290) with 3.73's and longtubes. Was going to do a cam at the same time, but got real curious how it would act with such serious high flow heads and a stock camshaft. It belted out around 320 rwhp but did not finish having it dyno tuned due to a bad flash on the pcm. I went a best of 12.52 at 112, but feel it could have been better (later discovered opti problems).
However, its not the times I liked the most, it was the driving! Idled like stock, but would hit a powerband and break the tires loose again after 3500 rpm. I ran it with 3.42's for the first few months and it was o.k, but the added flow really needed more gear.
Best combo I have ever driven, Was a joy to drive daily and not have any cammed issues, etc. But with that high of a flow and a cam.....oh god! Heads were done by www.lt1dave.com

Or how about a set of AFR 195cc LT4 heads, Great head out of the box that you could slap on there and then if you got a large cam or stroked it or simply felt like it there is vast room for improvement over the already nice flow curve of the regular castings, Im thinking about that and a touch of N2O instead of the high revving cammed motor. Sounds like the power band would turn into something more like an ls1 with that sort of setup...
