Can I get my heads ported and not put in a cam just yet??? I have to take my heads off to get them fixed and I figure while im at it ill have them ported new springs rockers seals am I missing any thing?? I will eventually put in a cc305 ( can't do it now because my father flips out every time I mention putting a cam in the car. Long story but he thinks the car will blow up if i cam it. yea im 25 and my old man still tells me what I should do … can’t wait to move out) but cant I set the heads up for the cam and just swap that later??? Will i get any gains from just ported heads????

 

Sure you can set the heads up now and put a bigger cam in it later. You'll pick up a little bit of power in the meantime from the better flowing heads.

 

Just dont let your dad know about it ...

No really though, if its your daily driver, dont cripple yourself with it. Get a beater vehicle first ... If you already have a beater though, **** it. Let your dad get pissed. Cam it anyways ...
