Ok just got the car back togeather and we put the cam in Stright up dead nuts on the money with a degree wheel. Now the damn car is popping out the exaust! WTF???? Any insite on what can be causing this issue??? HELP! Just want to drive the car!

 

Need more info . What cam ? Was it a cam kit with springs . Did you check coil bind?
How did you adjust the valves?.

 

what year car? i think the earlier models had the potential for setting the opti 180 out...

Set a little loose but ya its fine we have determined the opti spark has gone out It now dosnt run at all so pissed this car is PITA!

Did you make sure all plug wires were fastened to the correct plugs?

 

Yup there right The opti is toast!

 

Mine kept eating up opti's even with the cam pin filed to spec. Now with the Delteq system mine runs like a champ. However I'd go another route than delteq now days. Still have no clue why it kept destroying opti's but it sure runs good now only utilizing the cam position sensor part of the opti.

Dynaspark also sells a good piece that should solve any opti issues given all the specs are set up correctly and the cam pin isn't eating into your opti.

 

Didnt know there was an issue with the cam pin F*CK! Its in now But it did lay nice an flat so my guess comp cams may have the right length pin in it

It was full of water so my guess is thats why it stopped working.
Whats DynaSparks web site I have never heard of them??

 

Did you make sure the cam pin is in the Opti properly? It's VERY easy to not put it in the right slot; and the car will run like ****/barely run if this happens.

 

Well I lined it up with the 3 bolts and put the pin in one of the three slots that it can go in other than that I have no idea how it cam out since ya cant see in there when ya take the damn thing apart. Its a real pain of a design if ya ask me.
All I have to do is put the fan back in and coolant lines on and well see what happens I hope like hell the thing fires and runs fines. But who knows I dont have very good luck as of late so my guess there will be more issues

 

There's only 1 slot that it's supposed to go into!!! One slot is different than the other 2!!!

As such it could just be you have it aligned incorrectly which is what it sounds like

It's gonna be ok, bro. I think the first problem you need to solve is how water got into the opti. Is the water pump leaking? Do you have the vacuum lines connected correctly?
