POP when braking moderately

Hey guys, I hope someone else has experienced this and can lend some insight. Yesterday afternoon while getting lunch my car started making a POP sound from the left front corner under moderate braking. It makes a single POP and you can feel it in the floor board, but not in the brake pedal. It only POPs once and seems to brake fine. I pulled the front wheel and found that I was ready for new pads, there was not much more than a 1/8-1/16 of pad left on both sides of the rotor. I changed the pads and rotors on both sides. On the way to work this morning I had no returning issues. However, going to lunch again today it started again. This is on a '93 TA...
Any ideas?
Anyone ever experienced this?
Could the caliper be failing?
Are the passenger and driver caliper interchangable?

Thanks
Brian

Tore into her on Saturday and replaced both outter tie rod's (They were both loose) and made sure everything was all greased up. I still have the POP. I am going to do the ball joints this weekend.
Any pointers?
Is there any advantage to replacing the upper control arm with aftermarket, or just replace the joint in the old one?

Did you get your LBJs changed out? I did mine (not sure that I did them 100% correctly) and I still have the pop. Like you, I changed my brakes first and it went away for a little while. Then changed the LBJs and it went away for a little while. But it's back. Just wondering if changing out your ball joints did the trick, if so, I will take mine and have them done right at a shop. (I know, I know, I should have that done anyway.)
I can really feel it in the brake pedal and floorboard though. Like a single ABS pop or somehting like that. I can hear if from the drivers from wheel area.
