Poly torque arm mount, need help!!

Hey all, putting my car back together and I am installing a poly torque arm mount (Not tranny mount). I have it all together, but CANNOT seem to get the top bolt to go in, there is to much meat on the mounts to allow me to compress it enough to get the screw in, how did you all do it? Please help.

1. your rear suspension can NOT be loaded.
2. your tranny mount has to be out and tranny lowered as far as it will hang to access the top of the torque arm mount.
3. it takes a lot of patience, muscles, and a 4" vice grips comes in real handy to hold it clamped while you start the top nut

it took me almost 2 hours just to get it back together the first time.
its a major PITA, it was the worst part of my tranny install believe it or not.
hope this helps.

no need to drop the tranny..... just compress the clam shell with a very heavy duty zip tie

Vise grips.
I used a small set to hold it together and start the bolt.
Its still a PITA though.

If I go the route of lowering the tranny alittle, I can still leave the torqe arm itself in there, right?

whats the benefit of changing this mount?

If I have a poly tranny mount will this mount add more vibration?

the mount is cheap, for what I read the labor is a PITA. Do I need to be conviced to put this thing on or should I run to the nearest part store and then spend a few hrs braking my nuckles?

Guys let me know what did you gain from this mod

Thank you.

To be honest you really don,t need it.
I had to do it cause I put in a BMR TA and the bushing is totally different.
I don,t think you would see much gain from it.
I could be wrong though but for the hassles it takes to install it I don,t think the gains would be worth it.
It is not just a simple take one out put the other in deal, you have to grind or drill out the rivets holding the rubber parts in and this itself is a PITA let alone trying to get the bolts started as has already been said.

I chaged mine because the old one was shot and the torque arm would clunk when changing from forward to reverse or visa versa. I jack my car up on all corners and had no real problem removing changing or reinstalling the new bushing, now it hooks much better with no slop.
