poly motor mount vs. aluminum/steel mounts?
I use Prothane mounts. These mounts minimize the torque twist of the motor in the engine cradle and I love the results. The only difference I noticed was that when I turn the key, the motor doesn't shake the car as violently when it fires up. Probably the difference between good solid mounts and a nearly destroyed driver side mount that I was used to previously.
Get them.
Now on the other end, Prothane makes tranny mounts and they are very durable but because the urethane material is so dense it transmits noise and vibration throughout the car. A lot of people prefer the OEM transmission mount over a urethane option because the material absorbs more vibration. I use the Prothane mount myself and am used to the side effects and feel good about having a reliable product.
