If spark plug wires touch or are too close to each other will it cause the engine to run rough?

 

Yes , just open your hood in a nice dark garage with the engine at idle. If you see arching- time to replace them. Mine were fine one day and started arching the next day. The car still ran great with bad wires until I dropped the hammer at the track . No timeslips worth keeping that night.
