Question Please tell me what this is

94 Z28
On the drivers side below the air intake duct that goes from the air filter housing to the MAF, there is a square looking thing with a green and red harness that is plugged into it. Right under that there is a piece that has on one side, a small round disc and on the other side a nipple. My question is, on the nipple I found a broken off piece of hose, as if there should have been a length of hose there going somewhere. I know this sounds like i'm talking in circles but it's the only way I can describe where this thing is. Right next to it is the edge of the fan shroud (drivers side).

Any help would be appreciated. If there should be a hose on the nipple, where does it go?

It sounds sort of like the vacuum line that goes from the optispark to the intake elbow, but I'm really not sure.

Maybe this will help, this webpage has a ton of pics and descriptions of things:

I don't have an opti spark vac hose from the intake manifold. On the 95 photo it comes out right next to pcv valve. Is it different on the 94? Shoebox??

Cool

It actually sounds like the vaccum line going from the opti to the intake since it has the disc type filter on it
