please help! wont start

i know u guys here this everyday! but last night went out to start it and u could hear the starter but it just couldnt turn over. then i waited a few minutes , tried again it sounded like it was bout to start then died off again! unplugged maf, tried again nothing, then plugged it back in and it started right up! i have had an ses light on since the hurricane passed through but no problems till now.
but i was about to take it up to autozone and have them scan it, and now i cant even get it to try and start! been about 20 minutes of me messing with things but it wont even attempt to turn over. u can hear the starter but nothing else. now i have the battery unplugged, just hoping that it will help! probably wont but who knows! PLEASE HELP!
thanks in advance
and everytime it rains my ses usually comes on, then after 2 days it goes away

Re: please help! wont start

You need to check fuel pressure and spark.

Re: please help! wont start

ok i thought i had fixed the problem but i guess i just got lucky and it decided to start! when the plugs and wires got changed the guy didnt do the one that went from the coil to the opti, do he told me to do it! anyway i changed it out and it started right up! sweet so i drove straight to autozone and had them scan it again, and it came up with code P0107 map circuit low input. so i changed it out and my car idles so much better and when i let off the gas it goes right back to where it is supposed to idle! like b4 when i let off the gas it would stay at like 3000 rpms for a sec then very slowly go back down! but it is fixed now, iam so relieved! thank god it wasnt the opti!

Re: please help! wont start

nevermind that last post of mine i drove ot my mos house which is about 20 miles there and halfway back i was goin 65 on the highway and it shut down for about 5 seconds and i was startin to pull of the road it kicked back on! hm but when i put the new map sensor n i broke the lil green hinge, but it did kinda lock back into place so i thought it was goin to be alright! but no. as i get off the exit to go home it breaks down for good and i have to pull off. so i pop the hood and the map sensor is fine but i do squeeze it once again just incase! but it takes about ten minutes for me to finally get it started again and i drove straight home. when i am tryin to start here is what happens!
turn the key u hear the starter then u hear it getting gas, the motor starts, get to about 600 rpm's then dies. it will do this everytime. its like once its started it wont stay on! could this be my ALTERNATOR? please help
when i have the radio on since day one the lights on the dash and headlights dim, the louder the music gets the more dim they get!

Re: please help! wont start

could u guys please give me a few clues. i dont have the tools to check for fuel pressure and spark. my relay is working, and i cant check ignition. but i just went out and got in my blazer and jumped it for a few minutes. then i got in and it started on the second try. sweet. i stayed on the gas at 1600rpm's then let off after bout 15 seconds then it idled down and about 2 seconds later it died! ok so i let it jump a few more minutes and it wontstart again.
please give me some other ideas so i can rule the alternator out, or say that it is the problem! thanks
