Unhappy Please help, problem after csi wp install.Car is overheating!!!

I installed the csi last night.Today I put in the anti-freeze and went to start the z.When I turned the key to ing.I could hear the wp winning. So I would believe it is running.I can hear it.I start the z.It starts. Then the water temp. just starts to rise and rise.I pulled out my thermostat thinking it is the problem. Is there a way to test the thermostat? What do you think the problem is?Radiator cap was not hot.Can I leave the thermostat out and just put the seal back in?Thanks for the help.

did you purge all the air outta the system? When I did my CSI WP, i let it run w/the engine turned off for like 5 mins, and made sure to get the air out using the bleeder screws on the 2 front hoses.

Well I took out the thermostat and the car still overheated right off the bat.
I'm lost.I can hear the wp running when I turn the key to ign.
I'll try bleeding the system like you said to.Thanks

did you figure it out yet because i just got done installing my csi pump and i have the same exact symptoms as you... I hear the pump running but when i turn the car on the temp goes up fast and when i try to unscrew the bleeder valve, nothing comes out. are the bleeder screws the one on top near the radiator shroud and the one near the thermostat????

when you bleed the coolant system have the rad cap on otherwise you are just letting air back into the high points of the system

You more than likely need to bleed the cooling system. Overheating after the water pump has been removed/replaced is almost always a bleeding problem.

Thumbs up Re: Please help, problem after csi wp install.Car is overheating!!!

You guys were right again!I turned the key to ing. and let the WP run and I screwed out the bleeder valves.Nothing much happened.I could hear air coming out.I waited awhile. Then I started the car and water started coming out the bleeder above the thermo. After along while the other bleeder started spitting.
The Z wasn't overheating any more.YES.
I LOVE this website!
Do what I did importkilla. You should be fine.
Thanks again to everyone who replyed.Jeff

hey ROOFO, my problem was the same as yours... ididnt wait long enough to bleed the system. Problem is solved... It feels a little quicker in the upper rpm range and i drove it today which was a hot day and the car never even saw 180 degrees around town. Thanks from me also to everyone who helped me out.
