please help oil pressure problems

my oil pressure for one is kinda low like at idle warm 15 psi and at 2000 rpm it is like 40. but i can deal with that it is that i am getting oil pressure drop at wot. if i am sitting still and rev it up the pressure doesnt drop it goes on up to like 70 or 80. it only drops when i am going down the road and punch it then it starts to rise then falls quickley. I have replaced my oil pump with a stock pump and i have a mechanical gauge. the motor does not make i bit of noise runs great great power. any advice will help. thanks

How much oil are you running in the stock pan.

Well lets say this you don't know if you have a baffle in the stock pan, but did you remove it when you swapped oil pumps? If not its still there.

What kind of change did you notice between the pressures when you swapped oil pumps. What did you change from?

Re: please help oil pressure problems

maybe the oil pump pickup is loose and either too high in the pan or too low in the pan. Maybe the replacement pump has a bad relief spring (stuck?).

Every one of those things is possible.

What did the oil pressure do when you changed the pumps? Did you change the entire pick-up and pump assembly or just the pump and re-use the pick-up you had?

I've read about this before. If it's not the windage tray then it could be that an oil galley plug is out.
