Angry Please help... electrical problem...

OK so after 6 months of fiddling around with changin parts and doing all sorts of fancy stuff to my '97 is seems that the only problem now is that pin5 on the black connector to the computer is losing the 5 volt signal.... only when its hot. it wont start after that for a few hours until it cools down. anyone have any ideas. were gonna try a different computer today, ill update the post when we do.

thanks for the input, ive replaced every sensor in the loop and clean'd all the connects. starting to frusterate me. i used an ohm meter on all the wires, i just cannot figure out why it only loses the signal when it gets hot.

ok so to recap the problem...
car is amazing for 30 minutes, than all the gages act as if you just turned the ignition on ( peg to peg) every light comes on, the car dies. the check guages light stays illuminated. no engine codes, just no signal on the 5pin on the black connector. it acts like it wants to start at first but just wont. 3 hours or so later shes all ready to run for another 30 minutes...

well worst case i guess i can trailor it to the track and give it one run per night.....
this needs to be fixed...
or...
if anyone is interested in buying it let me know. this is really starting to wear my last nerve thin.

any input is appreciated, thanks a bunch

Mine every once in a while seems to lose all electrical power, have you had the battery and alt tested after it starts acting up? Main electrical grounds and power?

Pin 5 is the ignition control, sending signals to the ICM to fire the coil. The opti is what tells that wire what to do. Scanned for any trouble codes? Could be the opti or opti harness. That would seem more likely than the PCM.

Once the 5v sig is lost, can you look at a schematic and trace it back to the source and find the 5 volts? Easier said than done on our cars but this would tell you where it's good and where it's bad.

The PCM should be the source. I think he is saying that is where he is losing it.
