Re: please help, car wont start :(

Sad news guys... Its the OptiSpark and the module that went bad. So im going to buy a used opti with 29k miles on it from my friend who is puttin a differnt form of ignition or something (hes works at Consumer Reports, and has a volvo station wagon with a LT1 in it, The craziest volvo wagon ever also with 4.11's in an automatic) So i should get it for cheap from him and this mechanic said he was going to install it for around 275-300 ( he also payed for the towing of my car, so i guess that charge is in there also, but i dont know, hes a friend of my uncles). So im looking at around 400 dollars for the whole thing. Really blows. But i love my car, so i guess im going to have to bite the bullet on this one. Thanks for all the help guys. Hope this all goes well. ( i also found out i have a fairly new waterpump , i guess the guy who owned it b4 me changed it, so that rules out why the opti went out.)

Good luck, hopefully they've found the problem...but don't be surprised if they change those two and then you find it's a bad/weak coil. Have them wiggle the wiring harnesses to the coil and opti before they tear it apart if possible...they're a common failure item as well.
