Question PLEASE..PLEASE..PLEASE..PLEASE.. HELP! Car won't start...

Ok...Here's the recap:

Car sat for 8 months to get new transmission...
Car had about an 1/8 tank of gas for 8 months without being started...
Car finally got transmission!...

Drove around for 3 days after getting the transmission...
One day driving to work the car decided it was going to die on me...I pumped the gas and turn the key a couple times to get it started again...Then went about another mile and it happened again (Seem to happen only when I left off the gas every now and then)...So this happened about 4 more times...
Finally got the car to work and there it sits for another two days...

I assumed it was just bad contaminated gas...So today, I went up there with some starter fluid and tried to spray some into the intake...tried to start and nothing...Sometime it would turnover for like a second but never started.

I also hooked a mulimeter up to the blaster coil I have and it blew the fuse so I assume that was working..(I didn't have the tools to pull a spark plug to check for spark).

I'm out of ideas, I was going to change the fuel filter but I don't see how that is keeping it down. I mean the starter fluid should have atleast got it going right?

Sorry this is so long but I obviously didn't want to leave anything out

I am open to suggestions, please help!

Thanks in advance,
Jason

check a few things...

pull out one of your injectors, make sure it's sending gas and not clogged up with gunk. changing your fuel filter wouldnt hurt. check your opti...if it goes bye-bye, car-eeee no start-eeee. and also, the most obvious thing, check the battery...get a jump, see if that'll help it.

good luck.

Thanks Rage...The battery keeps going dead (Brand new battery) between starting sessions so I am keeping it on a constant jump with the wifes car...

If I pull one of the injectors and it's all junked up would that also mean that the others are as well?

And again, wouldn't it have started anyways when I sprayed the starting fluid in the intake?

Thanks,
J

Well, I would normally say that would be a possiblility but its not even starting for the alternator to work...and besides that the jump should be enough to get it started...Also wanted to mention to that a very few times as I was trying to start the car that I would pull the key all the way out then back in then as soon as I turned the key to the "on" position (Not actually starting) that it jumped, like the crank tuned a half turn...really weird!..I wasn't even turning the key to start it yet...
