Please help... car is running VERY hot, don't know why!

Thanks everyone for taking a minute to help me out,

I own a 1993 Firebird Formula, A4. Just today on the way out to the golf course with a buddy, I realized my car was running at the 3/4 hash mark on the temperature guage. For some background, my gauge reads "40"... "105" at the middle..and "125" i believe at the red zone.

Normally, my car would only reach the 3/4 mark if I was sitting in a drive-thru, for example, on a warm day. And once this happened, the fan would kick in and take the temperature back to mid. But on my whole trip, the temperate was running at 3/4. I checked coolant, added some, made sure I had circulation through my heater... nothing helped. I'm thinking thermostat?

If you have ANY suggestion, please help!
Thanks

faulty thermostat, clogged hose maybe. maybe you need to bleed the system some.
are you losing coolant at all? if you are, you probably have some air pockets getting in. get a pressure test done.

I just had my system flushed about a month ago. I've been using my A/C alot lately in the warm weather, would that cause anything?

i had very similar problems and am getting the comp reprogrammed so the fan comes on at a lower temp, and putting in a 160 degree thermostat.

also, check under the front of your car to make sure the front spoiler is still scooping in air, the ground effects on my car prevented this from happening.
