I was driving on the freeway and all the sudden my RPMs just dropped to 0 and it died. so i pulled over and tried to start it but it wouldnt turn over. after trying a few times it started up and i made it home. i drove it the next day and it was fine. its done this 3 more times now where it just turns off within 2 weeks. what could it be??? my coil??? i have an msd blaster coild i got abuot 2 years ago. my opti??? never changed that. Any other ideas??? My car is a 93 z28 A4. thanks a lot guys!!!

 

How many miles does you car have on it?? It sounds like your opti is going bad. Same thing happened to me.

 

120K............do you think it could be the coil ????

 

Wow if you got 120K miles out of your stock opti that is great. I highly doubt it is the coil because your car would be missing at higher rpms. What you are describing usually occurs when your opti goes bad. Is your car thowing any codes??

 

umm, i havent check for codes cuz i dont know how but the SES light isnt on. how much is a new opti anyways?

 

He also stated his car wouldn't turn over when it died. By that, do you mean it wouldn't crank at all? Can an optispark cause this?

 

no it would crank for days but it wouldnt turn over...
