Please help!!!! which cam is right?

I am trying to think of the right cam for my LT1 Camaro. i want a nice/affordable cam that will be my daily driver in the summer. i want it to get me some HP at the same time not to over the top. i have all the bolt ons which in my sig is what i have. im going to also try and get a 3200 stall converter or bigger depending on the cam i get. if u could please help me out i would really appreciate it.

Check AI's cam/valvetrain kits. I'd get the Ai 226 / 234 - .569/.570 - 110 LSA

cam?

Whats affordable to you? The lt4 hot cam kit is hard to beat for the price. It works very well. I have it in one of my cars and I like it a lot, (good power and sound). Are there other choices out there that make more power, yes there is, but it will be more money with the supporting springs and other stuff that comes with the hotcam kit. But for stock heads the hotcam is a proven cam. If you want something that will give you a little more power the cc503, crane 227, and lingenfelter 211/219 are very popular with unported heads. search the forums this topic has been discussed many times.
RamAir95TA give good advice with http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt...ion-guide.html check it out and do some reading, and hopefully you can decide on what you want and how much $$$$ you want to spend. You can spend a lot real fast. Good luck with your decision.

i mean something thats not gonna break the bank lol i wouldn't mind spending around 800 for everything. thank you for the advice. i guess i have to do a lot more searching before i get a cam. i hate to pick the wrong one and have my car run like sh**

You are going to have to pony up some more cash for it to be done right. :) The cam is only 20% of the cost. You also have to factor in things like a timing set, rockers, springs, hardware, lifters (if yours have high mileage), gaskets and misc., and most importantly a PCM tune. A typical cam swap using quality, new parts will run you around $1000+.

i mean thats not to bad i guess i could go up to 1000+ i was thinking on doing the cc503 or crane 227. which one would you suggest out of those two

I would go with the cc503. THis cam is absolutely kick ass. I ran it for 1500 miles in my old set up and I loved it. It has explosive power and is a great cam with great drivability.
