please help
please help
the whole topic of optispark and other ignition problems seems to have been beaten into the ground a long, long time ago. im having some trouble and am looking for advice, because the threads on optispark problems are endless. also, i dont even know if i have an optispark problem.
when driving, if i mash on the gas (no matter what rpm) without downshifting, the car freaking stumbles a lot and does not accelerate quickly. the problem does not occur in first gear, and i havent noticed it in second. it happens most of the time, but not all of the time. the car has nearly 77,000 miles on it. any help would be appreciated.
thanks,
adam

Don't mean to hijack your thread, but maybe engineer will give us both some of his wisdom: i.e, I don't quite understand how you can run without o2s.
I thought that you needed the o2s to tell the PCM how much adjustment is needed to get the correct A/F when in closed loop operation. So if you don't have the o2s, how can this be achieved?
Just wondering. If you removed the CAT, do you still have the o2s?
Seems like a dumb question to ask, but it just never occured to me that you could run without those sensors.
Thx.
