please help

I have a 94 z28 and I am having a problem when you get on the gas it gets in the rev limiter before it shifts to the next gear. It is stock execpt for it has 17 inch wheels could that be the problem. I dont know that much about the lt1's but was wanting to put a few bolt ons. What are some of the cheaper bolt ons I can do right off. I also heard about reprogramming the computer (who does that). What is the difference between the A4 and the M6. Does anyone know what size belt to run if you want to remove the smog pulley. I am going to try it out a the local track so I want all I can get cause there are alot of mustangs around here. I was wondering what size gear i have I know you can pull my all the way in low I seen some camaros only go to second. I dont know if that matters or not. Sorry about all the question but new at this (one more Question). When I start the car in the mornings if makes this weird squeaking noise when you rev in up. It act like it is coming from the smog pump but when it gets warm it quits.

thanks for any help
Josh

Re: please help

Alot of people have had that shifting problem. One solution I have heard is to mess with the shifter adjustment at the transmission. The PCM would need to be reprogrammed for the wheels. The Air pump is electrical not belt driven so it wouldn't change pitch with engine rpm. Check your other belt driven items.
