Please Help

NEED ADVICE ON MY EXHAUST COMBO. I HAVE A 95 Z WITH NO CAT. NOT ELECT. CUTOUT,OR GUTTED CAT JUST TOOK IT OFF COMPLETLEY. THEN WELDED IN STRAIGHT 3IN. PIPE. OK NOW OTHER THAN THAT MY CAR HAS STOCK EXHAUST, BUT I WANT TO GET A CATBACK SYSTEM. HAD MY HEART SET ON LOUDMOUTHS BUT A TECH AT SLP SAID WITH NO CAT THE LM'S WOULD BE TO FREE FLOLWING. AND BECAUSE OF THAT NO BACK PRESSURE= DECREASE IN TAKE OFF AND LOW TORQUE! WHICH IS SOMETHING I DONT WANT TO HAPPEN. IS THIS TRUE? DOES ANYONE HAVE A SINGLE CAT CAR WITH NO CAT AND LM'S? IF SO HOW IS IT? WHAT OTHER CAT BACK CAN I TRY? PLEASE HELP.

First, lay off the CAP'S unless you're trying to yell at somebody. I have a off road pipe where my cat used to be, other than the smell and the noise, I do not remeber feeling like it lost anything.

You will be fine running a LM cat back without a cat. You wouls actually see better performance on the street with this set up as oposed to the LM cat back with a cat in place. Your going to have PLENTY of back pressure since your running stock manifolds. The only way I could see you losing any back pressure is if you went with LTs. Even then, the the loss would not be that great and would be made up for in mid to higher RPMs very quickly. Just go with the LM cat back and the gutted cat and you'll be VERY happy with it.

You may loose a very slight bit of power off idle, but from then on you should notice a gain. Go with the exhaust you want and have fun, the only thing that will suffer is your wallet.
