Unhappy Please help!!!!!

I just installed a new water pump in my car but i broke the hose that goes from the lower passanger side of the pump to the heater core. It looks like a b***h replace. my question is 3in from were the hose starts there is a metal part of the hose with a spring in it ? The hose broke clean were the rubber and metal meet so can i remove the metal splice in a rubber hose here and be ok for good or ok till i replace the hose do i just need a new hose?

You got the job cut out for you. I just did that job a few days back and I had to cut the hose and splice it together away from the valve that you are talking about. I purchased the short elbow from the Dealer cause the Autoparts Monkeys could not identify the hose. (went to six places and no luck) its only a 9 dollar hose from the dealer anyway and the elbow is like 2 inches too long on either side. Use a pair of scissors to fit it perfectly.

I wish I could have just pulled the hose from the valve. Mine is stuck there solid and I dont have a dremmel to crack that metal sleeve open.

Easy job for you. Time to replace all your coolant too. Dont worry its an easy job. Someone here suggested to do away with the valve but I notice the valve its a coolant restrictor and I didnt was all my coolant to rush through my heater here in Hawaii gets hot enough as it is .

Just clamp the new hose to the valve and be done with it. else you will pay over a 100 bucks to replace the complete hose and I heard is a pain in the **** to remove it from the firewall on the passenger side.

someone here did just that. you may wanna check the posts to find out who he is. I didnt do it. you wanna find out if bypassing that valve had any effect on the engine cooling too. Right now may not be the best time to ask that question though. Because most everybody in the USA is in winter. The real answer will come up in the summer.

Well that hose with the valve is for the heater core so would it effect heat?
