pin on cam help!!IMPORTANT

hi guys . k, i bought a used cam a few months ago and just got to comparing the dowel pin on it to my stock one, and its shorter so i guess its for 93-94 non vented cars i got a 95. what could i do? maybe take them to a garage , maybe they could swap the pins? a machine shop? help me out please, this just f**ked me over big time. thanks as always guys.

Im not 100% sure on this but I would think any engine shop should be able to swap that pin for you pretty easily and cheap. I dont think its anything much to worry about.

If you can't pull it out yourself (I couldn't) you could take it to a machine shop or find someone with a slide hammer. I took it to a local machine shop and they did it for free, takes maybe 5 mins. I tapped my other dowel in with a hammer and measured it closely.

The long dowel should extend .620" (a bit less than 5/8") from the end of the cam.
The short dowel should extend .300" (bit less than 5/16") from the end of the cam.
