This has been one of the delays as we had to work out a method of drilling out the passage after casting and it is the length of the manifold (big drill)!
This is also one of the hold-ups on my personal project also.
It took a lot of convincing from a group of us internally (GM LT1 enthusiasts) to get Vic to agree to build this manifold. I came to Edelbrock via a GM Performance Parts dealer and we have had much success with the LT1-to-LT4 conversions. As you may or may not know, GM has officially discontinued the LT4 manifold, so if you want a manifold with the material to port match lT4 or larger port heads, Edelbrock will fill that void and improve over stock while we're at it. Plus it looks cool.

That cant be the selling point because you can port or modify the stocker to just about any and every LT1 TB the after market makes. I'm 100% with altjar on this, I saw pics of LT1 intakes from Edelbrock in 1996 and never saw one hit production. I can see guys buying these for the LT4 heads since you cant get one from GM any more and thats why it came out.
Re: PIc's of edelbrock's LT1/4 Intake
I think the LT4 thing will push this through to production and they will sell a crap load even if it is dyno proven to lose power, people are stupid and they are demanding an intake alternative. Someone will market one even if they can't make it better. I do hope someone comes out with something better I just will not be so convinced as to declare intention to buy one before it is even internally tested.
Re: PIc's of edelbrock's LT1/4 Intake
Instead of speculating about how well it may or may not work, I'll wait until someone like LLoyd or Bret has one in their hands and can do some testing. But at least its nice that there is a possibility that us LT1 guys may have a new product to squander our money on.
Re: PIc's of edelbrock's LT1/4 Intake
for those of you that havent checked, i have spoken with edelbrock and summit and summit will have it for sale april 17th. I have spoken with Larry at summit three times on the matter.
