Pics of dual cats on a single cat car, PLEASE!!

I need some pictures or ideas on how to get two full size cats under a sinle cat car. I've been under for the past few nights and I just can't see how it can be done w/o the cat on the one side hanging down really low. I was thinking of picking up a Spohn torque arm to help recover a little room around the tail end of the tranny but I just don't know what else to do. TIA

Well we do have visual inspection.

If he's going true duals then the single cat wouldn't make any sense. But if not doing true duals than i would just run a single highflowcat flanged with an ORP if your really concerned about flow. It wouldn't be worth all the trouble and $ of dual cats.

So what is the ultimate goal Matt?

LTs/2 cats/y-pipe/Borla is what I'd like to do. They have been talking about the emmisions for years now. From two seperate and reliable sources...we will have them as of 1/1/04.
I put all this **** into the car and now they finally are going to do it. I was thinking about getting a new registration for the car around November so I can get it inspected before so I'll have almost a year until I would need the emmisions test. If the dual cats can be done I want to do that. Hopefully I am wrong about the testing but I highly doubt it this time. Damn it damn it damn it!

Has anyone a picture of the underneath Drivers side of the 1995 California Twin Cat model handy?

There is plenty of space there if you set one up just like the Cali Twin cat model.

I dunno if the other models have the same type of exaust manifold though. Cause in mine is Different looking on each side.
Sounds like an expensive way to go about not adding any horsepower. Well many 10hp I guess since thats what they claimed the car made in additional hp with the extra cat. That was way back then though...

The only expense would be another $40 for a additional CarSound cat...so if you think about it that way it's another few hp for $40, not bad but not the reasoning behind this "idea". I was thinking about two in the hopes that it help pass the emmisions testing and not really anything to do w/ a few extra hp.

There is plenty of space if you set it up like the California Model. Get a picture of that underneath area to get ideas first. You many need the Y pipe custom made though..

Oh this is just an Idea... why dont you register your car now while you can. There is a slight posibility that the Emmissions test will be for newer cars only. its a chance you hafta take. Or find out what years will be required to have emmissions test. Maybe it wont be retroactive to your model.... if you get the new registration you will have at least a year to do this changes to your car...

I hope I am right..

I am taking the car down to Mufflex to have a custom pipe made anyway so throwing an extra cat on won't make a real difference in price if I can just get ti to fit. If I get a new registration I'm waiting until the end of the year so that is all the longer I will have to not get the next inspection. The current registration is good until 04/04. In order to get it inspected in November or December the registration has to have the sme month. I will transfer my car from myself to myself. I'll do it from my full name to my first two intials and the last name. There will be no tax since I will be "gifting" it to myself. This is all worst case ideas to get around it incase I can't find a "friendly" shop locally to do the testing on the car next to mine.

Well, technically dual cats isn't going to pass the visual inspection anyways.........but, the man knows what he wants! Somebody get him some pics!

I saved my airpump to put back on if i really have too, although it'll still be cut at the bottom. Grrrr, i hope i don't get any **** about the air pump, i mean seriously, i have a cat at least. We should pass no prob with the CC502, although i hope you are wrong. Maybe i could title it as a farm vehicle......he he he.

I also saved my pump but it won't really hook up too well seeing as how I got the JetHots w/o the fittings. I could be completely wrong but I figure that two cats will clean up the exhaust better than one. Like I said, visual isn't going to be a problem but the sniffer may present a problem. I'm hoping the cam won't cause problems, that's why I picked it, but I'd rather prevent a problem rather than scramble to make it pass after it fails. Am I right that two cats will clean it up better than a single?
I like the "farm vehicle" idea even though I've never seen an f-fody in a field...on purpose! If it works my next post will be "What spreader will bolt directly to my Formula?"

LMFAO

Hmmm, I wouldn't be so certain that two would scrub better than one, just flow slightly better. If i remember right someone threw a second one in series, not parrelel and it got them to pass emissions. But then again i've never failed an emmisions test. Maybe our neighbor jersey guys can answer that. I don't think we'll have any problem passing. Our cam (even mine with the smaller lsa) has less overlap than the hotcam and people pass with that.

Still nobody has any pics.........Please people, some links to pictures!!!

Hopefully I will get some pics this weekend. I keep forgetting that most people are out enjoying a running car and not at home like me figuring out ways to make them run again.
