Performance Shift Mode

Well I remember a while back somebody mentioned this, and I asked about it and nobody had any info about it. Just came to this by accident really, while looking for some tuning tips for my akm cable I just ordered

I don't really know how much improvement this will have. Didn't some of the Pontiac f-bodies get this option from the factory?

And what the heck is a N/O switch??

It was an option. Not to enable more performance, but to be able to disable the performance for soft shifts. All F-cars that don't have the switch shift as if they had the switch in the "performance" mode

Unfortunately Spinner is right....it's hard to believe that my 4L60E is already in "performance" mode!

So if I hook up a switch I'll make it go into "Cadillac" mode???

Damn slushboxes.

Could be worse, I could be driving a ford or something.

Actually, he is wrong. The faq that states the Z is always in performance mode is incorrect. The Camaros have the same tables in them that the Firebirds do, but just did not have the switch to activate it.

N/O means normally open-it's a momentary, pushbutton switch. I can't believe you could not find any info with a search. There have been tons of threads about it, explaining all.

OK, so doing this might actually help some... I assume a n/o switch is the pushbutton switch that just connects while it's pushed in, as in just telling the pcm that you want to change the setting?

BTW the only time I ever saw any info on this was when it was mentioned in a thread about another subject- I think it was free mods or something being mentioned- people knew about it, but they didn't have any instructions.

Thanks.
