Question People with Hotcams installed, come inside!

I just have a few questions that arent commonly asked. I read just about every hotcam thread that hits the board (i know, thats alot!) A simple answer will do! For reference, I have a 95 Formula 6spd with 90 000km (42500 miles?) and I will be replacing the timing chain when installing the kit! (if I choose to do so!)

1. Will installing the Hotcam kit (professionaly) lead to motor failure any in way, shape, or form?
2. How many TROUBLE FREE miles are on your motor with the hotcam kit installed? (minor non-related things dont count)
3. Under normal driving circumstances, will I see a decrease in gas mileage? if so, by how much?
4. Will the car still be a solid, reliable, daily driver still? (as compared to the bolt-on lt1 that it is)

Straight up simple answers will do. If you've had any issues with the hotcam kit at all, let me know!

If the car is tunned far as the computer goes you'll have no problems and retain stock driveability. Thats what I love about LT1s, with the right computer tune you can have a 400hp monster thats daily driveable.

I almost wish I went with a little bit bigger of a cam but for a daily driver the hotcam is great. I am up to about 10K miles myself with no troubles at all.

The kit is a great deal for $500. Just dont expect thats all the money you'll be forkin out. I ended up spending over 1200 bucks on my cam project. I also decided to clean up my heads as long as i was in there, so that added a bit to the price. Just be aware that there will probably be something that'll nip u in the butt. It's a great mod though, I love my Hotcam!

I understand there will be the additional costs of gaskets, oil, filters, coolant, and the install. The install will be done at a dealer, by a friend, for $250cdn. But otherwise, I think i've basically covered all bases when it comes to bolt ons. I even have an underdrive pulley!

If I trap 105 mph now, how much of an increase will the hotcam kit bring with a similiar 60' time?
