PCMFROLESS tuning help!

I got my new upgrade for my new cam from Bryan, but i cant it it work right! When i run flshprog it goes through everything as normal, ie: select bin file..... select port #........ then it tries to connect with the PCM, it ries for a sec then it aborts and says security violation (0) at the bottom of the screen.

Anybody with PCMFORLESS tuning have any idea whats going on?
I need to get this thing tuned pretty quick!

Thanks,
Ryan

You're not waiting long enough after you turn the key on. Wait 20 seconds or so after you turn the ignition key on and then hit (P)roceed.

sounds like you fried it.

pull the battery cable or pcm fuse and see if that fixes it. but if the SES still flashes and your fans come on then your PCM is toasted.

How in the heck did it fry? It said everything was fine, completed, ECT. This is not a good night. Finally got my car together after a month and racing is tomorrow. My PCM fried b/c the program we downloaded was in EML (not bin) form. Then my buddy loaned me his and this happens

eh?

if you were using the file bryan sent you then i am sure it was a .bin file. how did you convert the file? there are only 2 that i know of... the .bin and .lt1 used on OBD2 cars.

Thats just it-we never converted it to EML. It just downloaded that way and it was overlooked. As far as the second PCM-who knows what happened to it.

ok i dont quite understand...

you got a mail order tune from Bryan and couldnt get it to upload because of security codes. then you figured that part out and got it to accept a flash and all was ok? but now you just tried again and as it looks fried the computer. what is this 2nd PCM? and did you flash the computer 1 or 2 times?

I don't quite know what happened either. I posted in the computer section. Maybe this explanation may be better.

Each one was only flashed (is that the programming part?) once. My friend knows about this not me. The first PCM was just a stupid mistake in the computer.

Copy/Paste from other thread,

I find it strange that Flash Program could locate a EML file. Seems like it needs to be a bin file to even be on the DOS menu. Did the EML have a ".bin" extension? I know none of this helps your issue I'm just curious. I would have guessed you didn't turn the key off after upload but you stated the fans never turned off and the SES light was flashing so now I don't have a clue as to what happened in your case. This is the first I have heard of this problem.

How is the condition of your car battery? Were you running an electric waterpump while the PCM was uploading (pulling more draw from the battery) Did you use an A/C source for your laptop or did you run that off of the car battery too? Seems like none of that would matter if the program indicated 100% complete but something to consider for next time.

I will tell you that when you get your PCM replaced make sure you get the PCM with a socket installed that way if you fry your pcm again all you have to do is replace the chip and try again, no more shipping back and forth. If you get it through Bryan have him program the PCM while he has it.
